Fency in the browser
What types of threats can Fency prevent?
Phishing pages, look-alike domains, malicious downloads, malvertising, financial scams and browser exploits. Fency detects them in real time and guides the user with a clear explanation whenever something risky happens.
What does Fency see?
Only the browser. It analyses pages and downloads right there, on the user's own device: the content of those pages, the files and what people type stay on it. IT only receives security events, such as a threat Fency stopped. Fency checks the pages people open and the files they download there, whether the link came from an email, a chat or a search result. It doesn't read mailboxes or messages.
Can the extension analyse behaviour as well as traffic?
Yes. Fency understands not just where users go but how they interact, which helps it spot confusion or risky actions and offer immediate, helpful guidance.
Rollout
How do we roll it out?
Admins force-install the Fency extension for every managed user through the Google Workspace Admin Console or Microsoft Intune, using the extension ID from the activation email. It's pinned to the toolbar and enabled in incognito mode, so people don't have to install anything. Step-by-step guides are in the documentation.
Which browsers are supported?
Fency works in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Brave, with Safari coming soon. For managed rollouts, Google Workspace deploys Fency to managed Chrome browsers and Microsoft Intune deploys it to Chrome or Edge on Windows 10 and later.
Can we run a pilot first?
Yes. For tests and pilots, Fency can be loaded locally in developer mode in Chrome or Edge from the package TeamFence sends you. Local installs don't update automatically, so we recommend Google Workspace or Intune for production.
Coaching and phishing tests
Who creates the phishing simulations?
TeamFence's security experts, drawing on more than 10 years of red-teaming experience. Scenarios are based on the tools your people use every day and are refreshed monthly with real threat data.
How is the training delivered?
Right where people work. Fency proposes short lessons tied to what each person actually faced, notifies them when one is ready, and tracks and documents everything automatically.
Do we need to manage email servers or buy domains for phishing campaigns?
No. Fency takes care of the email infrastructure, domain registration and tracking. Your admins only allowlist TeamFence's sending IPs and domains once, in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, so simulation emails aren't caught by spam filters. The documentation walks through every setting.
Are phishing simulations safe?
Yes. Simulations are for training and awareness only. They're safe, controlled and fully separated from real malicious activity.
Can we monitor awareness progress?
Yes. Reports show completion rates, risky behaviour and improvement over time, ready to share with management, partners or auditors.
